What's the big deal with the Ships in Star Citizen?
If you have never played Star Citizen, you may not understand the obsession that citizens (players) have with their ships. You may think, “Chill! What’s all the fuss about?”
I feel that. We risk annoying our friends by talking about our awesome ships. I would probably have reacted the same way if I never played Star Citizen.
However, I do play. Star Citizen is the most amazing space simulator where the spaceship experience has no equal.
Here’s why the ship experience is unparalleled.

These are just a few things, but it’s important to know that Star Citizen has nailed the feeling of flying these ships.
Let’s talk about one of my favorite ships: The Carrack. This ship won the 2022 Star Citizen Ship Showdown. Impressive! The Carrack beat out beloved ships like the Mercury, Redeemer, and 600i (another one of my favorites).
Let’s be clear: the Carrack is not a solo ship. It’s probably not even good for a small crew of two people. But crew this ship with 4+ of your friends and you are ready to experience the feeling of space travel in multi-crew ships that give Star Trek vibes. In other words, it’s a lot of fun.
What can you do with the Carrack you may ask? Well, a little bit of everything. Although it’s mainly a muti-crew explorer, you can handle many adventures from bounty, mining, and even some cargo.

Carrack gameplay can be a little slow. This means you can’t quickly jump into the cockpit and execute bounties right away. It takes time to call the ship in, get the crew briefed, and organize the missions. But that’s the fun part. It feels like a big expedition, and it feels like you are a part of something big.
Since we are a medical org, we always prioritize rescues of any type. We will peel at any given moment to help a citizen in need.
I almost forgot to mention that the Carrack can carry ground vehicles as well as the Pisces (small ship). This expands the fun of the gameplay to launch the mission with a strike team while a small crew manages the Carrack.
The Carrack is such a cool experience that I highly recommend you experience it in your Star Citizen life.
